One life . . .

Janet and I attended the funeral service for Pastor Frank Navarro. His family gave him so much honor, especially for the Christian example that he was to all of them. At the end Johnny Dorris shared, concluding a very encouraging and God honoring service.

As I sat there, I gave God thanks that Johnny and Patty Dorris moved to Ontario over 40 years ago and planted the Praise Chapel church.  Because, it was at an outreach where Johnny met and witnessed to Frank Navarro who soon after gave his life to Christ. Johnny said, “He never turned back.”

Frank and Renate Navarro went on to plant a church in Hayward, CA., and then in Germany.  They have served and been a part of Praise Chapel all these years. The impact of his life upon his Children, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren was amazing to hear as they shared about him. Only now as he is in heaven will he understand the impact of his life.

This is the impact of Win- Build- Send.

One couple responded to plant a church in Ontario, California. One man got saved at an outreach. Generations of people are saved around the world.

Never underestimate what God is doing through your life and ministry. God may have you where you are serving for just that, “1” person or one family.  Jesus stopped for one woman at a well and as a result an entire village received him.

Let’s keep at it, always.

Praise Chapel Culture Conference 2018

Years ago, Andre Crouch wrote these words in a wonderful song, “How can I say thanks for all the things You have done for me.” Of course he was giving thanks to God. I want to give thanks to everyone who participated in the 2018 Praise Chapel World Conference on “Culture.”

All of our speakers brought informative and challenging messages.

Dr. Michael Brown, referring to the cultural challenges said, “Darkness is not the problem -lack of light is.” Dr. Joshua Lingel, as he taught us about reaching Muslims said, “Islam is not the problem – the complacent church is.” Dr. Christopher Yuan, speaking to us about the sexual revolution said, “Desperation is the breading ground for change.” Pastor John Malcolm, powerfully challenged us to contend for the supernatural revival in our culture. Missionary/Evangelist, Jack Harris imparted vision for making impact in the Middle East.  Many other pastors spoke shorter messages giving us powerful words of encouragement and challenge.

All of the messages and events will be posted online and will be downloadable free for you on the PCI App.

The Worship Teams

I was so proud of each worship team from Praise Chapel churches. My special thanks to each and every one who served on these teams. The quality of your music presentation and the worship experience was excellent in every way.

I especially want to thank all of the logistical workers.

You folks are always amazing. You work almost unseen. You are the ones who really made this conference an exciting event for everyone. One pastor told me that everything was smooth and pleasant. That is because of all of you wonderful partners who labored so hard from the very beginning of planning until the last truck was loaded around 1 am closing night.

We all do this for one reason – to bring glory to Jesus Christ.

People came from fourteen nations and at least eighteen states. Only time will tell the full impact of this conference.

Your reward for service and labor in God’s Kingdom can only fully come from God. That is why the Word of God promises: “So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith” (Galatians  6:9-10 MSG).

Last but not least, I want to thank everyone who attended this conference.

It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit imparted to you exactly what only He knows was just for you. In all that we do, we totally depend upon the Holy Spirit to anoint our work and labors to accomplish God’s purpose.

Until our next time to come together, I will be praying for you and always available to serve you in any way that God enables me according to His will and purposes.

4am Thanksgiving Day . . .

I am in Germany again this Thanksgiving Day and it is 4am. What do I do when I can’t sleep due to jet lag on Thanksgiving morning? I get up and give thanks.

Where do I start and where do I end? I think my thanksgiving is endless. There is so much in my life to be thankful for and so many people I love whom I am thankful for. It would be an endless task to list everything and everyone.

I am thankful for . . .

#1. Jesus and Salvation: That peace that I have by knowing I am saved through the shed blood of Jesus has to be #1 on my list. Thank You Jesus for saving me and choosing me to serve in Your kingdom work.

#2. My Family: As I was in a market yesterday, I saw families from so many cultures and nationalities. There were local German families, European families from many countries, Middle Eastern and African families. I thought, how amazingly God has built the family into the human experience.  I cherish the wonderful family God has allowed me to share life with. My wife Janet, our children, their children, our extended family and our Christian family. My life would not be complete without each and every one of you. I love each of you so much.

#3. Health: There are so many  this Thanksgiving Day, who are experiencing health issues. I pray that God will comfort and heal you. I see so many wonderful people who live with physical challenges and yet, many times seem to be the most thankful. I applaud each of you. I thank God for the health that I feel today.

#4. Finances: This world is filled with desperate needy people. Millions of displaced people around the world, living in refugee encampments. Many millions more living with daily hunger, fear, inhumane treatment and the needy list goes on endlessly. I am so thankful to You Father God for always providing food on our table, a home to live in and the finances to take care of the needs for living. I feel like the Apostle Paul when he said, “I know how to live with a little and a lot . . .My God always supplies for all of our needs according to His riches in glory.” (Philippians 4) That you Father God for all of Your gracious provisions.

#5. Friends: I am so blessed to have life-long friends. I am thankful for each of you today and every day. This life that I am living would not be complete without each one of you. I can’t name you all in this short Thanksgiving blog, but know that in my heart there is a place for you.

This is what I call a Five-Star life: Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances & Friends. Thank You Father God for your grace and mercy this Thanksgiving Day. I have one special prayer:

 “Come quickly Lord Jesus.”
