Sow today for your Tomorrows

“Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you” (1 Kings 17).

Sow today for your Tomorrows

We love the stories in the Bible showing God’s provisions for widows and woman of Faith. Today we talk about the the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings chapter 17.

This story took place during a famine. The widow woman had no food left, she only had a little flower and oil to make a last meal for her and for her son. Then this man of God comes and asked her to do a very difficult thing, “make that last meal for me.”

The Request came with a Promise

Anytime God asked you to do something it is because He wants to bless and reward you. He is asking you to respond with faith.

“Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).

The Promise was Fulfilled to her

“So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days. 16 There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah” (1 Kings 17:15-16 NLT).

The Unexpected Reward

This is the results of sowing the seeds today for your tomorrow. “Some time later the woman’s son became sick. He grew worse and worse, and finally he died” (Verse 17). Her Father God had already seen past the famine to this moment. God knows your future and He is already preparing rewards for you. Of course her son was raised from the dead.

Don’t be afraid to sow seeds today for your tomorrows.

Have a great day,
